New scheduling & appointment check-in procedures

The safety of our patients and dental team is our highest priority. We have implemented new policies and procedures to help keep everyone safe during the pandemic. These changes reflect the guidance of state and federal dental and health authorities. We have also implemented air purification technologies for added protection.

Here’s what you can expect during your next dental appointment.

We are scheduling appointments to maintain social distancing and provide our team with extra time for cleaning and sanitizing rooms prior to visits.

We ask patients experiencing any flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath) or anyone who has been in contact with a positive COVID-19 individual within the last 14 days to NOT visit our office. Please call us at 651-698-1242 to reschedule your appointment.

Please remember to wear a mask to all appointments. During check-in, we will conduct COVID-19 pre-screenings that include:

  • Taking your temperature

  • Asking you to clean your hands with sanitizer

Our dental team will be wearing additional personal protection equipment (PPE), including N95 masks, face shields and additional protective clothing.

Some hygiene and dental procedures create tiny water droplets, or aerosols, from the mouth of patients. We have implemented new suction systems that minimize aerosols and the risk of airborne contaminants.

Our hygenists and doctors use internal suction to capture any potential aerosols at the source. During some dental procedures we may also use an external air filtering system that disinfects aerosols with HEPA filter and UV light.

Please call us if you have questions about your appointment or dental care. We appreciate your continued trust and confidence, and we look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.

"I think I received excellent dental care during this time when we are all concerned about the coronavirus. I think the staff at O'Kane & Monssen followed all the necessary precautions. I felt safe and well taken care of during my procedure."
